Process

What to expect, start to finish.

From the first email to the 6-week touchup — written so there are no surprises on the day.

Pre-procedure

Bookings start with a free 15-minute consultation. We talk through what you want, look at reference work, and review contraindications (medications, recent procedures, pregnancy, certain skin conditions).

Once you’re booked, you’ll get a prep instructions email: avoid blood thinners (including aspirin and ibuprofen) for 48 hours, no caffeine the morning of, no Botox in the area for 2 weeks prior.

A $150 deposit holds your appointment and counts toward your service total.

Day of

Plan for 2–3 hours from arrival to walking out. The first 20–30 minutes are mapping: drawing, measuring, and adjusting until you sign off on the shape.

Topical numbing sits 20 minutes before we start. Secondary numbing is reapplied as needed during the procedure. Most clients describe it as steady scratching or pressure — uncomfortable but tolerable. We pause whenever you need to.

Pigment is custom-mixed for your undertone on the day. You’ll leave with an aftercare PDF and a bottle of healing balm.

Healing

Six weeks from fresh to settled. Each phase is normal — here’s what to expect.

Healing

What it looks like, week by week.

  1. Day 1

    Bold + slightly raised

Pigment looks 30–40% darker than your final result; mild swelling is normal.

  2. Day 3

    Starts to flake

Surface scabbing begins. Avoid picking — let it shed on its own.

  3. Week 2

    Lighter, patchy

Looks like the pigment vanished. It didn't — color rebuilds as skin settles.

  4. Week 6

    Settled, healed

Final color visible. We touch up at this appointment.

Touchup

Every initial booking includes a complimentary 6-week perfecting session. We assess healed color and shape, fill in any spots that didn’t take, and adjust pigment if your undertone shifted.

The touchup appointment is shorter — usually 90–120 minutes, less numbing required.

Long-term care

Sun is the biggest factor in fade. SPF over the area daily, even in winter. Skincare actives (retinol, glycolic, vitamin C) accelerate fade if applied directly over the work — keep them clear of brows and lips when possible.

Most clients refresh annually or every 18 months. Annual touchups for existing clients are $450.

Ready when you are.
